London Elek, Elsa and a Piano...

Brookes Brothers Album Info

Finally! Tracklisting, album cover and release date. BOOM! Been looking forward to this for waaaay too long. Hit up the link under the picture for the groin-grabbingly good info.

Blu Mar Ten Mix Catalogue

This is definitely an interesting find. A load of mixes dating all the way back to 1995 by the legendary Blu Mar Ten all available for download. All I can say is that the most recent one (Med School/Fabric Mix) is stunning.

Also, whilst on my travels I came across some very very recent videos from Blu Mar Ten in the studio showcasing their new album in little snippets. It's not of the greatest quality as it's just recorded from a camera in the studio, but I will say it sounded mighty impressive. Once there's a decent quality clip available, you can bet your right nut it'll be up on here.

DISASZT feat. Trei & The Square - I Lost You

Disaszt has a new album titled Shadow & Lighting LP dropping on the 16th May on Capital 20 Records. From what I've heard, its pretty darn tasty. Here be a taster to wet your appetite :)

Yes this is cool. Burn Studios Audiotool

Now, I'm no producer and I've only merely dipped my toes into fruityloops once or twice so I'm kinda unable to give a proper view on this. But from what I've seen, heard and played with, it seems rather darn good for something that just runs in your browser. Looks sexual too.

Tuesday 12 April 2011

Shimah - Electro Step

Rumour has it, this tune was first played by Nu:Tone during a recentish podcast and since then Andy C has been dropping its dubplate all across the country. Either way, when that bass kicks in at 1:30ish, it'll drop you to your knees.

Best Thing Ever?

Yes, it's a lego mixing desk. I really don't know what else to say. Umm...awesome?

Construction details are linked below, but be warned, it's in german. However, if you're using Chrome then it should translate it for you. It does for me anyway :)

Wilkinson - Moonwalker VIP

If this doesn't get released, I'm gonna kick right off and protest outside RAM headquarters. Every time I hear the bassline keep going down and down, I get a semi.

Listen in from 1:20 for the aural orgasmic experience.

Fresh - Future Jungle EP

Released yesterday (11th April), It's Fresh's....umm....fresh new tunes. Took me a few listens to really enjoy it, but now I just can't wait to bag this on the black crack. The Gatekeeper has a cracking intro and Mission To Mars is just, well, no other word other than SLAMMER.

London Elektricity - Round The World In A Day (featuring Elsa Esmeralda)...

Hands down one the best videos I think I've ever seen. New song from the forthcoming Yikes! album, featuring the lovely vocal talents of Elsa Esmeralda. The videofits the song so well and the animation is top notch. I thoroughly enjoyed it, I hope you do to :)

Monday 11 April 2011

Misanthrop - Sidereal / Neosignal 007

Misanthrop has just dropped a huuuge new tune onto the black crack via record label NeoSignal. Epic epic intro into a tune I'm sure will be right up Beatsmith's street :p

There's also an interview with Misanthrop on K-Mag. It's worth a read and you'll find the link below the video :)

Production Tutorials and Samples

Looks like a very useful site for you productionists (new word?) out there. A plethora of resources and information, should keep you occupied and informed for quite a while.

HARVEST-MILITANT VIP

Oooohh yes. Militant has been huge this year and it's been in every other mix people have uploaded. Now it's time for the VIP and it's a scorcher. Shame the preview has an MC over it, but I can forgive that for this purpose :) HARVEST-MILITANT VIP by harvestdj

Wilkinson - Blender Bass (Part 1)

A short video by Wilkinson showing how to use a blender in a way that you would not of imagined. Loving the pepperami sample too :) Also really hoping this tune gets released!

IllSkillz - Nectar & Ambrosia LP

Coming to your decks in June 2011, this is a new LP Illskillz is working on. Including a collab with Bristol legend Dub FX which I can see smashing dancefloors across the globe.

DnB Tube

This looks rather interesting. It's still in beta at the moment but seems to be working fine for me on chrome and in Firefox 4. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments :)

One Ton Mix CD - Mistanoize

Well this was a very good find. It wasa mix CD given out by Mistanoize and there were only 100 copies of it. It's available to stream on soundcloud buuuut, I found it available as a download on dnbshare. With permission from Mistanoize himself, he's allowed me to post that link here. But said only if I also post about a link to his UKF Podcast :p

Future Funk 3

Picture the scene. It's a sunday. The sun is shining through the light mist creating mystical wisps of liquid beauty in the air. You've got a cup of tea, a jam scone and some herbal delights. Everything feels perfect but you're missing something. Music. Yes, that's what you need to top the whole thing off, make it the perfect day. Well this is that mix. Proper hazy day vibes :)

Trap Magazine 003

This was a rather decent find. Tis a free magazine available for download featuring interviews with Icicle, Rockwell, Breakage. Mini reviews on a bucketload of albums, event listings and even a fashion section so you can look like a topshop model. Design wise, its simply stupendous too.

I've uploaded to it megaupload to save you having to a make an account to download. Aren't I nice to you :)

New Blood 011

New Blood 011 has been released. Get to the Hospital Shop and get purchasing if it's what you're into :)

Alix Perez News

Just a little snippet here, Alex Pirez is reported to be working on LP number 2. Source is from his facebook so keep your ears and eyes open for that one. Any info I find I shall post.

Break & Die - Slow Down VIP

Yep, you read that title correctly. One of the biggest tunes of 2011, and one of my personal favs, has been given the VIP treatment. I think I still prefer the original, but this is still something I'd love to own just for the immensely good second drop. Bassline in this is an improvement over the original but the vocals don't seem as poignant (my view anyway :p) Basically, when alls said and done, this is huge.

'MOONROCKER' Clip

No news on release dates yet, but IllSkillz has been busy working in the studio for the Commercial Suicides LP with tunes by SPY, Klute and Concord Dawn also featuring. Should be a good purchase come release date.
'MOONROCKER' (Commercial Suicide) Clip by IllSkillz

Spor - Full Colour

Big clip from Spor. Rumours floating around about this possibly being from a new EP/LP/Album in the works. It was originally know as Noisia and Phace - Unknown but the general consensus is now Spor - Full Colour. Taken from the Neosignal Podcast with a tracklist. Either way, it's big and Spor like.

DnB Forum Megamix 2011!!!

It's finally here! It's finally here!!!! I've been waiting for weeks and weeks for this mix. The 2009 and the 2010 mixes were fucking incredible, and from what I've heard of the 2011 one, it's of the same calibre.

Zyblot - Ms. You

You'll know I have nothing but praise for Zyblot. Excellent tunes and somehow unsigned. Latest tune from him. 'Tis a real nice one and also a free 320 download. How kind of him.

Free Samples Anyone?

Well, came across this whilst perusing the vast world of the internet. Seems like a handy resource for all you producers. 25000+ free 24-bit WAV files of a large variety. Enjoy :)

Dirtyphonics Interview

A rather interesting interview with the lads from Dirtyphonics. I really don't know what to say about them to be honest other than that they are immensely good. Playing in Monkey Bar in Swansea on April 1st courtesy of Allsorts and judging by the videos of their live performances, it's sure to be an absolute belter.

3 Decks, 3 Hours, 101 Vinyl

As the title says, 3 decks, 3 hours, 101 vinyl. Consistently tight mixing, I just can't stop listening to it. Check out his soundcloud for a couple more extra good sets :) 3 Decks + 3 Hours + 101 Tunes = THIS!!! by DJ Mish Mash

Hamilton Interview

Here's a nice mini interview with man of the moment Hamilton. He's been killing dancefloors up and down the country with a hugely entertaining set and his production skills are top notch. Find out about his latest remix, up and coming projects, and what he uses in his studio.

London Elek, New album!

Yep, in case you were not already aware, the mighty London Elektricity is working on a new album titled Yikes! And is releasing his first single in three years, on vinyl April 4th. Digital release is March 18th.

"This is my first release for three years, and features the vocals of Elsa Esmeralda who graced Just One Second from my last album Syncopated City," says London Elektricity. "Elsa features on seven tracks on Yikes!, and I can safely say this is easily my best work to date. Yikes! has been two years in the making, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!"

Every Friday in the run up to the release oYikes! on April 25th, Hospital Records will be unveiling a brand new video on www.londonelektricity.com. Junglised shall keep you up to date :)

Kiss presents Doc Scott

KissFM recently had four Djs from Real Playaz on the air, each playing a 30 minute set. These included, Taxman, DJ Vapour, Rockwell and Doc Scott. Linked here is the Doc Scott mix, which I personally feel is the better of the four :) Excellent playlist and top notch mixing. Enjoy.

Cyantific Interview

Drum and Bass Arena have an interesting interview with Cyantific where he mentions about a new album in the works, a single on Ram Records and his small attention span.

NOISIA

Noisia have uploaded a little set of 8 previews on soundtrack showcasing their immense production quality and versatility. Some are released already and some are due to be released. But I gotta say, Friendly Intentions...WAAWAAWEEWAAA! what a belter. Second favourite has to be Falling Through. Big tunes.

Friendly Intentions was released on 28th february. If I had money, I'd of purchased it instantly.

Brookes Brothers - 1Xtra Guest Mix

Brookes Brothers have done a nice 30 minute mix for 1xtra radio. Now, I'm not sure, and I may be wrong, but I think there's a few tunes from their anticipated album that are so far unreleased. Google brought up no information other than that the tunes I searched had been included in tracklists, with further confirms my suspicions. Anyway, have a listen for some damn nice double drops and harmonic mixing.

dBridge 3-Part Interview. Part 1

As the title says, it's a three part, 30 minute interview with dBridge.

Part 1 talks about the new Mosaic Vol.1, various artists album on Exit Records and an honest look at where drum & bass is right now and where it is going…

dBridge Part 3

And in Part 3 dBridge takes us through a few elements of his own studio, working with hardware synthesizers and instruments. He talks about collaborating with Instra:mental and dBridge’s own personal journey through the catacombs of drum & bass past...

dBridge Part 2

Part 2 further discusses future drum & bass, the nature of the music and the always changing world of the medium that it adopts...

Proper Old Skool like

Going back to 1992, happened to stumble across a rather old radio show from the influential Goldie. Worth a listen, even if it's just for the comedy banter he gives out. 'We've just been told to cut the swearing out, if the DTI are listening, we live in London, you know where to find us'

Drum and Bass Awards 2011

5th March ladys and gentlemen. Who's gonna win what? Sadly, voting has finished so you're unable to influence anything now, but jeepers does it look like it would be a fun place to be. As expected, line-up is HUGE. Like, massive big stylee.

Shame the poster looks a bit tacky. And it's at the custard factory? Crazy name.

KRK Limited Edition

KRK have released some new limited edition Rokit monitors. Featuring a new curved moulded baffle to reduce distortion of high frequencies supposedly resulting in a much larger sweet spot than traditional square baffles. Priced at £350 I feel that's rather reasonable bang for buck.

SENSA & HASTE - THE VISION

Another tune from Sensa and Haste, this one is a tad darker than Drifting. Can't help but think it would go well with SPY - Ghost Ship. Once again, no info on a release which is a shame. If I had a record label, I'd snap these two right up. SENSA & HASTE - THE VISION by Hastednb

Sensa & Haste - Drifting

Quite simply pure bliss. No news on whether this will be released but I really hope it will be. Sensa & Haste - Drifting by Hastednb

Friday 25 February 2011

This is a handy little find. A biiiig list of who's supposedly releasing an album this year. 2011 looks set to be very, very interesting. Obviously, Brookes Brothers album isn't too far away and according to DJ Fresh it's absolutely phenomenal. I'd be very interested to hear Enei's album, along with Furi Anga's, Loadstar's and S.P.Y's. To be honest, there's LOADS in that list that I'm excited by. Too many to write down here. Have a look and tell me in the comments what you're most excited for this year.

Zyblot Mix by Knucklez

Well, I stumbled across Zyblot's soundcloud and was thoroughly impressed by his tunes. And also noticed a majority of them were available for a free download. So I downloaded them all and made a little 20 minute mix with them. Most are double drops too :p

Enjoy

Red Light. GO!

After 2 weeks of late nights the new server is live, ready to rock and is pumping out the tracks. The new server is a million times better than our last, and has a lot more storage. Behind the scenes it's a lot easier to keep things running smoothly. For you guys it means the entire back catalog of show archives are online again, and all available for the AutoDJ system to play during the day when no live DJ's are playing. It's also opened up the option of getting some or all of our shows as podcasts through iTunes or *insert your favorite podcast feed here*. That's the next thing to work on, alongside the new website build. You can get a sneak preview of the two work in progress designs both here and here. The first is my attempt, the second is Knuckles. Over the next few weeks we'll come to a final decision on the design and get it setup on the new site following the upgrade to Joomla 1.6 (For all the geeks). If you're interested in DJing on Junglised Radio, just drop any of us an e-mail or to contact@junglised.co.uk

Serum & Northern Lights - Bad Boys (Serial Killaz Remix)

Reso - Valken EP Preview (CIV017 OUT FEB2011 12"/DWNLD)

Definitely up there as one of my favourite producers, Reso is one of those people with a distinctive style. Known for his dubstep tracks, he's determined to pull away from that label and wants to expand. Slap Chop was a huge hit for for him (and a huge favourite tune of mine) and his latest releases have been crossing genres from DnB, Drumstep, Synthy hip-hop, ethereal trance, all somehow still encapsulating that trademark Reso Sound. His Valken EP, released earlier this month shows everything I've said, and Reso says it's a sign of what's to come from his summer release album. No info about that one yet!

New Album coming from Dom & Roland

He released an album in 2008, 2009 but only had one release in 2010, a 12" with Klute. But he's been busy in the studio and his sixth album is set for release this year. A date hasn't been hinted at yet but to quote him from his twitter account

"New Dom & Roland album on the way... all tracks and artwork done, just got to think of a name that isn't shit"

He's also been so kind as to set up a facebook fan page with 6 little previews Click here to go to it

Through the Looking Glass, his 2008 release, was a corker of an album. I'm hoping this one will be too.

Prolix 'Freeze Frame' clip Trendkill Records [TKRUK001 ]

An interesting interview with Dan Gresham A.K.A Nu:Tone. He talks about his new album, his views on people thinking he's a one genre man and quite a few other things. Worth a read :)

dBridge Exclusive Mix

dBridge giving out a massive Autonomic mix on the URB Podcast. Enjoy the new sound he's been pushing for a while. No tracklist, just a musical journey.

'This week’s podcast is surely something special considering it’s coming from Darren White, also known as the master of the Autonomic sound, dBridge. While putting out releases on labels like Fat City, Nonplus, as well as his own Exit Records imprint, dBridge has been shifting the subconsciousness of the drum and bass sound into something emotive, atmospherically-driven and determined to make people do what they are supposed to do with their ears: listen closely. Coming off releasing one of the best compilations of 2011, (Exit Records: Mosaic Volume 1 which includes tracks from Scuba, Distance, ASC and many more) dBridge shows us not only his omnipresent focus on his informative brand of DnB but also explores the worlds of hip-hop and just straight tuff beats. Dubbed originally the “Mosaic Mix Part 1″ (which you will hear frequently said in this mix), this creates a path between the mind’s interpretation of hip-hop and DnB and creates a universal loophole where they can co-exist fruitfully. In conclusion, it’s amazing.'

Welcome

Well, firstly I'd like to welcome you to the Junglised blog. The main reason for this blog is to post good mixes, album/singles release information and generally any good news that is found on my travels around the interwebs. It also saves me from clogging up Beatsmith's wall with all the stuff I'm going to post on here :)
